ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Georgia, Nov. 24, 2014 – Sea Island Golf Club has once again landed an acclaimed spot on Golfweek’s list of Best Resort Courses for 2015. The Seaside course at Sea Island, which was originally designed in 1929 by famed architects Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison and redesigned in 1999 by Tom Fazio, has earned the No. 19 spot on the list out of 100 courses nationwide. The annual list is compiled by Golfweek’s panel of course raters around the country.

“It’s a tremendous accomplishment to our team here at Sea Island that Seaside received such a worthy recognition,” said Brannen Veal, director of golf. “Along with our Plantation course, Retreat course and new Golf Performance Center, Sea Island has everything golfers need for a fun and challenging golf trip experience.”

For the past five years, Seaside has served as the host site for the PGA TOUR’s McGladrey Classic and has also hosted multiple USGA events. Situated at the southern point of the resort right along the Atlantic Ocean, Seaside is a links course, which plays firm and fast in true Scottish links tradition, and offers stunning views and a demanding layout for golfers.
